” Mariana Hardwick Bridal Emporium in Brunswick was the first bridal store I visited with two of my gorgeous bridesmaids. I was feeling overwhelmed with how many different styles there were to choose from, but then my sister saw one gown hanging on the rack and said “that’s you”, I saw it and thought it was unique and beautiful.
Clara gave me some shoes, pinned the dress to fit and popped a veil on me – I walked out to show the girls and became overwhelmed with emotion, tears welled up in my eyes – not because I loved the dress but because I had such a strong sense that my late mum was there with me. It was as though she was saying ‘this is the one’. My sister had the same exact reaction, so there I was in the middle of the beautiful Mariana Hardwick Emporium having a ‘group hug’ moment with my girls (and my mama) – having found my dream dress on the very first day of looking.
I came back in with my other beautiful bridesmaids, each who were blown away by the gown! It was then I decided I wanted to adapt the dress to have a fuller skirt. Clara was great; she took on what I described, drew the sketch and raced upstairs to speak to the designers who said it was definitely possible and that they loved the idea.
My dress then became one of a kind! I loved going in to every fitting and my wonderful seamstress, Kim who went above and beyond and made the whole experience very special. I received so many wonderful comments on my unique wedding dress.”
