When I first started looking for my dress in February 2014, I was instantly overwhelmed by the selection of dresses and labels in Melbourne. To help me start the dress hunt I broke down what I wanted my dress to represent, it had to say something about Mark and I – the dress had to be made in Melbourne, modern with a hint of traditionalism, simple but sexy, cool and casual!
I was able to fill a weekend with appointments visiting beautiful labels, Mariana Hardwick as the last one. I could not find the dress which met my criteria. Mum and I walked into the Mariana Hardwick Emporium on Sydney Road and were blown away with the beauty of what was on offer. As this was my last appointment, Mum and I scaled the racks trying to find the dress. I pulled 6 off the rack, and mum 1.
Maria, the dress consultant, helped me into the change room and then started the process of elimination. I tried on all the dresses I chose first, unfortunately I didn’t fall in love with any of my selections. Maria could see the frustration on my face, she then encouraged me to step into my last dress – the one my mum selected; from the Nightingale collection. As soon as I stepped into the dress and looked into the mirrors, I felt my eyes well with tears – I knew I had found my dress! It was everything I wanted it to be!
Mum and I loved coming to the Emporium for the fittings, we were always greeted with a smile and walked up to fitting rooms. Kim first measured the dress, and introduced us to Dominic who saw us the whole way through to pick up.
Dominic was attentive, real and honest. It was all so easy!
Mark and I got married on 13 December 2014, with the a clear blue sky and sun shine! The dress was perfect, and most importantly he loved it! We ate some amazing food, took some amazing photos and dance the night away with amazing people. It was just perfect!
My experience was seamless – I have heard many wedding dress horror stories and I’m glad mine was a dream come true
